About ARTemis and its owner, Sam.
Why Artemis Pole Studio?
Passionate about all forms of art, Sam, the founder of ARTemis Pole Studio, chose the name to reflect her vision of strength, independence, and fearlessness, embodied by the goddess Artemis. At Artemis Pole Studio (APS), we view pole dance as more than just exercise; it is a transformative journey that empowers individuals to embrace their inner Artemis—the goddess of the hunt and moon. Emphasizing individuality, fitness, and confidence, APS provides a friendly and safe environment for everyone eager to elevate their skills.
Our goal is to create a space where everyone can follow their intuition and expression, free from judgment or societal constraints. We believe in the right to pursue one's passions, regardless of how others react, just like Artemis.
Sam deeply resonated with the essence of Artemis. Inspired by the goddess, she crafted a competition routine centred around Diana, another name for Artemis, and won the professional title in 2022. This victory solidified her passion for pole dance as a form of art and self-expression.
Mission & Vision
VISION
Artemis Pole Studio's vision was created to be more than a pole studio: it is a space where movement, education, and community come together to help people grow both physically and personally.
Our vision is to build an inclusive and inspiring environment where individuals of all backgrounds and levels feel empowered to explore movement, develop confidence, and express themselves freely through Pole and flexibility training.
We believe great coaching goes beyond tricks and performance. By combining biomechanics, smart training, artistry, and creativity, we help students train safely, move with purpose, and unlock their full potential in a sustainable way.
At Artemis, strength and artistry coexist. We encourage our students to challenge themselves, embrace their individuality, and celebrate progress at every stage of their journey, whether their goal is fitness, performance, competition, or simply reconnecting with themselves through movement.
Above all, our vision is to create a supportive community where people feel motivated, seen, and inspired to grow together, both inside and outside the studio.
MISSION
Our mission at Artemis Pole Studio is to provide a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment where people can grow through movement, express themselves authentically, and build confidence both inside and outside the studio.
We are committed to delivering high-quality Pole, flexibility, and movement education through coaching that combines technique, biomechanics, creativity, and artistry.
Our goal is to help every student train safely, progress sustainably, and reach their individual potential, whether they are complete beginners, performers, or competitive athletes.
At Artemis, we believe in creating a community where individuality is celebrated, physical boundaries are explored with purpose, and every achievement is valued.

Meet the Studio Owner
Who is Sam
Sam is the founder and owner of Artemis Pole Studio in London, a Pole & Flexibility Coach, and a Biomechanics Lecturer at London Metropolitan University she is also a certified POSA & Virtude judge (Execution, artistic and difficulty). A Londoner by choice, but with 100% Tuscan blood running through her veins (Maremma style 🇮🇹), she has built her teaching philosophy around one simple belief: ART and SCIENCE should always work together.
Movement has been part of Sam’s life since she was three years old. Growing up immersed in Ballet and Jazz, dance shaped not only her technique, but also the way she sees expression, discipline, and connection through movement. Like many young dancers, her dream was to become a professional ballerina, but after stepping away from dance at 16, she spent almost a decade disconnected from that part of herself. Everything changed when she discovered Pole Dance at the age of 25; like many of you, she started with no upper body strength, her flexibility was reduced at that time and was out of shape. But she worked hard and consistently to pursue her dream. In that moment, she realised that no matter how far we drift from something we love, what is truly meant for us always finds its way back.
Sam holds a 1st Class Honours degree in BSc Sports & Dance Therapy, specialising in Pole Biomechanics research. Her academic and coaching background allows her to bridge the gap between performance, biomechanics, mobility, injury prevention, and artistry; helping athletes train in a way that is both technically strong and sustainable long term.
Over the years, she has continued expanding her knowledge through multiple certifications and CPDs across the fitness, flexibility, rehabilitation, and dance industries. Her qualifications include Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT), NASM Personal Training, Flexibility & Mobility Coaching (Spin City), AFAA Group Exercise Instruction, TRX coaching, and former F45 coaching experience.
Sam’s coaching style blends technical precision with emotional connection and artistic storytelling. She is deeply passionate about helping athletes not only become stronger performers, but also more confident individuals. Throughout her career, she has choreographed numerous pole routines that have gone on to win medals at both national and international competitions, guiding students to achieve results they once thought impossible.
As both an athlete and performer herself, Sam has competed in multiple Pole Art competitions across the UK, Spain, Greece and Italy, bringing home 3 gold medals, 1 silver medal, and 1 bronze medal. Competing has given her firsthand understanding of the dedication, vulnerability, and resilience required to step onto a stage, which is something she brings into every class, choreography, and mentorship journey.
In 2022, after sustaining a shoulder injury, Sam dedicated even more time to studying pre- and post-rehabilitation for pole athletes. That experience profoundly influenced her approach to coaching, reinforcing the importance of intelligent training, body awareness, recovery, and longevity within the sport.
Alongside coaching and competing, Sam is also a certified POSA and Virtude Judge. She has judged and participated in several national and international competitions (Pole Earth 2025, Pole Art Italy 2026, National POSA Portugal 2025, Pole Varsity 2023, Pole Golden Talent 2026), always bringing fairness, empathy, technical expertise, and a refined artistic eye to every evaluation. She strongly believes that every performer has a unique story to tell on stage, and that judging should honour both athleticism and individuality.
Above all, Sam believes in community, growth, and lifelong learning. She loves creating a safe and inspiring environment where students can challenge themselves, celebrate their achievements, and reconnect with their confidence through movement.
Whether teaching beginners or advanced athletes, her goal remains the same: to help people discover what their bodies and minds are truly capable of.
